Patented strains of Aspergillus oryzae and Bacillus subtilis, are utilized to make the direct-fed microbial, Natufermen. The combination of Aspergillus oryzae and Bacillus subtilis in Natufermen, produces various secondary metabolites that remain in the product. These secondary products include: enzymes; organic acids; amino acids and nucleic acids.

Natufermen effectively reduces ammonia, amines, mercaptans and hydrogen sulfide emissions in poultry houses. Research has shown that the inclusion of Natufermen in the diets of laying hens improves egg weight and eggshell quality. Field studies have demonstrated that the inclusion of Natufermen in the diets of turkey poults, improves body weight gain and feed efficiency.

Q&A:

What is Natufermen?
  • Natufermen is a direct-fed microbial containing Aspergillus Oryzae and Bacillus subtilis.
  • Laboratory analyses show that Natufermen contains significant levels of secondary metabolites including enzymes and nucleic acids.

What benefits are gained by including Natufermen in my animal diets?
  • Research has shown that the inclusion of Natufermen significantly reduces the population of Salmonella and E. Coli in pigs when included in their diets.
  • Natufermen has also been shown to significantly reduce mercaptans, a sulfur containing compound found in animal waste.

What is the inclusion rate of Natufermen?
  • 0.1-0.3% of the diet in piglets
